"How to Save Money and Energy With Smart Home Devices?"
The air conditioner and dehumidifier are only two smart appliances among the New Wide Tech nowadays. Both of them are equipped with sensors to connect to the cloud. Therefore, connection both of them, and adding the functions bill calculation.
Knowing the importance of aesthetics and practicability, “how does this app fit into the lives of the
users?”
To agile development, engineers created the UI without aesthetics, and they did not consider
user-friendy. Therefore, the ideal user concerns have to be addressed. That is why I set both
short-term and long-term design goals.
For the short-term goal, to improve the aesthetics is the most important issue in regard to the air conditioner app. Therefore, all of the positions and functions in the app are the same as before, I only modified the color and icons of the UI, and then I added a tutorial during usage making the app more user-friendly.
Practicability is a major task for an app, thus I set up concordance among three appliances: the air
conditioner, dehumidifier, and air purifier, as my long-term goal. Additionally, I added an “admin” to
manage other household users, so they can switch to any of the appliances.
I think the home page of new interfaces might amend. The main screen has been designed to allow users quick access to primary functions of the application.
After products implemented this control app sales increased in 2017. The redesign of the air conditioner app on iOS and Android also had a positive impact.
I worked on this project as an UI Designer for the smart home team of this new wide tech. I was responsible for research, UI/UX design, and visual design.
