Creative Tainan

I joined the map-sketching activity in Jingliao held by Tainan Creative Center. I was inspired by the light color of items and traditional buildings. Therefore, I used pink and bluish green as the main colors and drew special landmarks, traditional stores, and souvenirs on the map. By using Adobe Illustrator, I created a hand-drawn effect on my work. The map was selected to be on the map exhibition.

Because of my map design, I was invited to create the cover of the journal published by the Tainan Creative Center. My inspiration for the cover came from the reopening of HAYASHI department store (林デパート), which was once the most popular department store in southern Taiwan during the 1940s. My design concept was people celebrating the grand opening with a memorable firework show. I chose the red color because it represents happiness in Chinese culture.
